Huckleberry is leading the charge against dating violence and promoting healthy relationships in San Francisco through young men’s groups and health education workshops!
The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention recently released a document chronicling the success of young men’s groups in San Francisco. Huckleberry’s San Francisco health educators facilitate these groups at Academy High School, Wallenberg High School, and the School of the Arts!
Each group includes 8-10 young men and tackles topics including sexual health and HIV prevention, healthy relationships, LGBTQ allyship, and masculinity/gender. These groups are helping young men learn how to better communicate and reduce sexual health risks. After completing the group sessions, participants were more likely to know where to access condoms, respect people with different sexual orientations, and think someone at their school cared about them.
