Looking for a way to lend a hand during this uncertain time?
Giving Tuesday Now is in TWO WEEKS (Tues. May 5) and we put together a list of ways that you can help Huckleberry during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
1. Donate a portion of your stimulus check to Huckleberry. Are you stably employed and financially secure, but still eligible to receive a stimulus check from the federal government? If you feel that you’re in a position to do so, please consider donating a portion of your stimulus check.
Did you know that the recent CARES Act makes a new deduction available for up to $300 per taxpayer ($600 for a married couple) for 2020 charitable contributions if you take the standard deduction on your 2020 taxes? Please consult your tax preparer for more information.
2. Host or attend a Huckleberry virtual fundraiser. Were you planning on giving a gift at a recently cancelled Huckleberry event? Consider making your gift anyway, or host or attend a virtual fundraiser for Huckleberry. Gather your friends, family, and community to donate. Huckleberry’s Young Professionals Board recently hosted virtual yoga and virtual cooking class fundraisers.
3. Become a monthly donor. Don’t have the means to give a large amount of money? Small monthly gifts, even $5 a month, can help Huckleberry Youth Programs weather this storm.
4. Spread the word! Can’t donate yourself? That’s ok! You can post on social media to raise awareness about Huckleberry Youth Programs and our work.
