Huckleberry Youth Programs, one of the oldest and most respected non-profit agencies serving San Francisco and Marin Counties, is seeking a Leadership Specialist Case Manager for our Lioness Girls Program.

Huckleberry Youth Programs (HYP) has served more than 100,000 youth since its incorporation in 1967.  HYP continues its leadership in providing a safety net for at-risk youth and their families in San Francisco and Marin County.  Over the course of the last 40 years, HYP has developed and maintained prevention programs that divert youth from violence, crime and gang involvement, as well as other harmful behaviors, including running away, drug/alcohol abuse, risky sexual activities, and involvement in the juvenile justice system.  HYP’s mission is to engage adolescents and their families in a comprehensive array of quality services addressing prevention and health promotion, crisis intervention, stabilization and growth.   HYP’s philosophy includes a commitment to respect and affirm the diversity of our clients, to recognize and understand the value and dignity of young people, and to acknowledge their potential to become healthy, responsible adults. 

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: 

Lioness Girls Program will provide leadership groups and support to 30 girls ages 14-17 in the Western Addition. The groups will use a curriculum that supports their positive community participation, academic achievement and builds on their leadership skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Lioness Leadership Specialist/Senior Case Manager is responsible for facilitating 2-3 girls’ groups in the Western Addition. They will lead the development and revision of the curriculum, recruit girls ages 13-17 for a 6 month group, work with other Western Addition CBO's for collaboration and shared resources, organize young women of color professionals to speak with the participants, organize a 3 month long community project and provide support and assistance to the girls individually throughout the program. The Leadership Specialist will work with a minimum of 30 girls annually and will be responsible for coordinating community outings and monthly youth events and Saturday retreats.   As a member of the Health Education team, the Leadership Specialist will provide case management services and/or health education workshops to other youth as needed.
